Designing heirloom furniture changes the goal posts a bit. One generations writing desk could be the next generations digital editing work station.

With this in mind we decided on a split level desk. The top shelf can act as a monitor/laptop riser. Integrated cable management at the back as well as space to hold a mini PC out of view is accessed with magnetic closures which allow access to the power/data points on the wall behind. Drawers were eschewed in favour of trays that can be stacked on the shelf, reconfigured or removed entirely.

Through tenon joinery never goes out of style and will ensure this desk lasts for generations.
